Ru’s love of baking pies dates back a decade or two – picking berries and making pies with close friends every summer. Launched in 2011, the Pie Club began when Ru’s love of baking pies became more than a hobby. “While I loved working in my community as an organizer on public education reform and elder care,” Ru explained, “I wanted to do more with my hands, but still give back to my community.” Ru needed a plethora of pie lovers to eat the creations that were rapidly rolling out of the oven. And so, Ru’s Pie Club was born.
